End of an Ear Recommends

Death "For the Whole World To See" (Drag City)
Album from 1975 that was never released until now. Three brothers from Detroit that originally started out as a soul band saw the Stooges live and decided to play rock instead. This brutal pre-punk album was originally slated to come out on Columbia Records. The deal was cancelled due to the band's refusal to change their name. This LP combines their first self-released 7" with the rest of the unreleased tracks intended for the original release. Recommended.

Bonnie Prince Billy "Beware" CD/LP (Drag CIty)
His latest and greatest now available as a CD, LP or the "Ultraload" edition which includes a 10" of four extra tracks and a download. Features Josh Abrams, Emmett Kelly, & Cheyenne Mize plus "Dirty" Jim White.

Ofege "Try And Love" (Academy Records)
African funk from 1974. High school dropouts from Lagos do the jams. Incredible. Available for the first time in over 35 years.

Gainsbourg, Serge "Histoire De Melody Nelson" (light in the Attic)
Gainsbourg's 1971 concept album about hitting a girl on a bike with his Rolls Royce.Incredible classic now lovingly reissued by Light in the Attic.Remastered from the original tapes, 40-pg CD deluxe booklet and Full Lyrics plus 1971 Q&A Interview with Serge (both with English translations).
