Recorded in late 1987 and during the sessions for Surfer Rosa, Steve’s version is very different to the single they released almost 3 years later, which famously incorporated \"sample-type sounds” on a \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePixies\u003c\/span\u003e record for the first time. A coarser sound, as you would expect from Steve Albini, this version highlights just how far ahead of the rest they were at the time. A real treat.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003eSide B is ‘Go Man Go’, a once near-mythical Black Francis and Kim Deal co-write that curiously was recorded by both \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003ePixies\u003c\/span\u003e and The Breeders during the album sessions for Bossanova and Last Splash respectively but failed to make the cut for either. Outside of appearing on a bootleg tape of Breeders demos and them airing it a few times live at the time, it faded from view until 2023 when upon discovering the lost master for it, The Breeders included it on their 30th anniversary reissue of Last Splash.
